This morning we had to explain to him that Henry had been really sick, and had passed away. Being three, he doesn't understand the finality of death.. he has asked me a few times today if we can take Henry to the hospital to make him better, and has come to tell me that Henry's water bottle and food bowl are empty, and he might get hungry.
RIP Henry.. you were only with us for two weeks, but you were already part of the family and we'll miss you.

Ohhhh no :( Poor Casey, that must be so hard to explain :(
Surely u can go back to the pet shop and say there was something wrong with him....he shouldnt have died after only 2 weeks :S

I agree with Sharon...Go back to the shop ad tell them nicely that you expect either a refund or another guinea pig as a replacement. Two weeks is a ridiculous time before a animal dies....there has to have been something wrong before the animal was sold. Try the "sob story" first and if they don't agree try the "stamp your feet" method next, threatening to take this further. I feel really sorry for Casey - he doesn't understand the finallity of death and perhaps the shop manager needs to understand that! xxxx
He did come with a 14 day guarantee, but he died on the 16th day. We're going to go back to Petsmart this weekend for Casey to pick out another one, and I plan to speak to a manager.. so we'll see what they say.
Call them first. you should have called the day it happened and spoke to the manager otherwise more time goes by. Poor little Henry xxx
awww, poor Henry, and poor Casey. That is so sad. He was awesome. :( He didnt look sick did he. Maybe it was something in his food or the hay :(
Did you try warming him up with a hairdryer at all?
Yep, we did.. and we left him by the heater for hours. Peter said he was definitely dead :( I miss him sitting with me in the evenings :(
I wonder how old he was? It didn't say an age on the cage did it? I never noticed one.
No it didn't say how old he was.. I assume he was young, since they said he'd grow to be 12 inches when he was fully grown.
